SPRINGFIELD, IL – Illinois State Senator Ira Silverstein (D–Chicago) today announced that he will be hosting four town halls in his district this July and August. Silverstein plans to discuss major issues brought forth to the General Assembly this session including the State budget, education reform, workers compensation reform and gaming expansion. Silverstein will also highlight legislation he sponsored this year.
"The town halls continue my efforts to maintain an open dialogue with my constituents about what I am doing to represent them while in Springfield," Silverstein said. "I represent a district that contacts me through letters, emails and phone calls to let me know their position on the issues facing Illinois and hold me accountable for my votes. I hope that constituents will join me at one of my town halls as I look forward to meeting with people in my district to further discuss these issues."
