"I am pleased that funding from the Capital Jobs Plan has reached our community," State Senator Mike Jacobs (D Seven years ago, then-Governor Blagojevich presented a check to Silvis School District #34 that never went through. Since that time, Senator Jacobs has been working to secure the funding that the Governor promised. Through the Capital Jobs Plan, Jacobs was able to secure over $11 million for the construction of a middle school for grades 6-8 and renovation on the PreK-5th grade building. "The community has been waiting for this money for seven years," Jacobs said. "I am thankful it has finally arrived. This project will put people to work and create a modern facility for our children to learn and grow in."
SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Capital Development Board (CDB) has awarded a school construction grant to the Silvis School District. The funding comes from the State Capital Jobs Plan that was passed last year.
