Springfield, IL— State Senators Toi Hutchinson (D – Olympia Fields) attended a signing ceremony today at which Governor Quinn signed the $30 billion comprehensive capital plan, bringing thousands of jobs to Illinois and fixing crumbling infrastructure across the state.
“This capital plan was one of our top priorities this session and it feels good to see it coming into fruition,” Hutchinson said. “Finally we are bringing jobs to the people of Illinois. The unemployment rate keeps rising and jobs are becoming harder and harder to find. This will give people the opportunity to find a steady, good-paying job.”
• Chicago Heights Park District- $100,000 for improvements to parks
• City of Chicago Heights- $300,000 for development and construction of a new 911 dispatch center
• Village of Hopkins Park- $300,000 for development and construction of a village library at the Ida Bush School
• Eastern Will County Senior Transit- $275,000 for renovations and repairs to the facility
• Aunt Martha’s Healthcare Network- $25,000 for improvements to the facility

• Ill-1, Pike Creek 0.2 miles north of U.S. 52- $1,070,000 for bridge replacement
“Governor Quinn signing the capital plan today marks one more accomplishment of the General Assembly this year,” Hutchinson said. “With one less thing to focus on, I am hopeful that this week we will find some solution to the budget situation, whether it be short or long term. Services are being cut, organizations have to close their doors, and people are not getting the care they need.”
