Senator Martin Sandoval (D-12), Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and Chicago Alderman Edward Burke addressed the crowd during the official inauguration of the new “Irene C. Hernandez Middle School for the Advancement of the Sciences”, 3510 W. 55th Street, a project aimed to alleviate school overcrowding and to improve the quality of education for thousands of students on the Southwest Side of Chicago.

Biography: Full time state-legislator, born in The Back of the Yards, graduate of Loyola University in Chicago where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. Sandoval resides in the Chicago Southwest Side neighborhood of Gage Park with his wife, Marina, their twins, Martin Jr. and Angie, and their daughter, Jenny.
