Chicago, Illinois - Illinois Senator Martin A. Sandoval (D-12) and Illinois Rep. Daniel J. Burke (23d. District) worked tirelessly in the General Assembly’s spring session to successfully secure important and needed funds for schools in the Southwest Side of Chicago through “Illinois Jobs Now!” the capital improvement plan that provides many long-awaited improvements to our bridges and roads, transportation networks, schools and communities.
Senator Sandoval and Rep. Burke are a product of the Catholic school system of Chicago. “We have ensured that our schools will be receiving the funds through the new Capital Program,” said Senator Sandoval.
“I am very proud of the results of our united efforts with Senator Sandoval. It has been a priority of mine to improve our schools on the Southwest Side for all working families,” said Rep Burke.
Elementary and High Schools in the area have each received $25,000 for academic projects such as new technology and athletic programs to benefit thousands of students on the Southwest Side of Chicago. Among them, St. Bruno Elementary School in Archer Hts., St. Gall in Gage Park and St. Richards Elementary School in Garfield Ridge.
