Where’s Rockford? Senate president manages to find us

Senate President John J. CullertonPresident Cullerton is mentioned in this Rockford Register article:

In any other state, Senate President John Cullerton’s goals would sound unremarkable: cooperate with the House, cooperate with the governor and cooperate with the opposing party.

But this is Illinois, where even modest political goals become mountains to climb.

Cullerton visited the Editorial Board this week. A seasoned state lawmaker — first elected in 1978 — his fellow senators chose him as head of the Senate in January after Emil Jones retired.
