Demuzio announces IDOT Projects for Morgan, Montgomery Counties

Springfield – State Senator Deanna Demuzio (D – Carlinville) has been informed by the Illinois Department of Transportation that a series of road projects have been approved for Interstate 72 and US 67 in Morgan County and for Illinois 16 and Illinois 127 in Montgomery County.

Morgan County

  • R. A. Cullinan and Son in Tremont has been awarded a contract in the amount of $10,138,340.90 for patching, resurfacing and bridge repairs on Interstate 72 between the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad to just west of the US 67 interchange.
  • The project also calls for patching, resurfacing and bridge repairs on US 67 south of South Jacksonville.

Montgomery County

  • Illinois Valley Paving in Springfield has been awarded a contract in the amount of $1,709,729.72 for two projects in Hillsboro and Taylor Springs.
  • The first project consists of road resurfacing for Illinois 16 in Hillsboro from Wood Street to East of the Union Pacific Railroad.
  • The second project consists of road resurfacing for Illinois 127 from Illinois 16 (School Street) in Hillsboro to Senator Miller Drive in Taylor Springs.

“As we work our way through this national economic recession, I feel it is important to put people to work shoring up our crumbling infrastructure.  Through projects such as these, we are making Illinois a better place to work, live and raise a family while creating good paying jobs for our hard working men and women,” Senator Demuzio said.
